In 2018, Childline announced that it had carried out more than 4000 counselling sessions in one year for children. The Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness has since found that one in 10 pre-school children feel lonely, along with one in five 7-12 years old and four in five adolescents. (Walker, 2018).
Irrespective of the age, class and status, the mental well-being of every child must be handled as very important as their physical health. From studies, loneliness is not an obvious disorder that is noticed easily by people around the affected person, yet the latter might be dying inside slowly.
Consequently, this discourse is motivated to help parents, teachers and other childcare-givers understand the concept of loneliness especially as it affects children in Key stage 2(Age 8-11years) and the role of drama in solving this social disorder.
