The Influence Of Post Election Violence On The Economic Wellbeing Of Women. A Case Study Kasangura Sub-Conty, Ibanda District

ABSTRACT

The research was set out to assess the influence of post-election violence on the economic

wellbeing of women in Kasangura sub county Ibanda district. Specifically it was set to asses

general analysis of the post-election violence in Kasangura sub county.

Also to examine the rate at which women were economically affected by post-election violence

and to assess the consequences of the post-election violence in regard to gender based violence.

The study involves cross sectional research design comprising of co- relational and participatory

social methodologies (interview) backed by qualitative description (observation and

questionnaire) and qualitative description involving simple random sampling.

The finding shows that women economy dropped over the election violence periods

immediately afier the chaos. This was due to the effect of the violence on the labor force and the

premises of the violence and the labor force and the destructive of many businesses centers and

premises generally the Ugandan economy went down as a result of the violence since investors

were out from the economy.

Recommendation have been given such as plan to have set strategies when interviewing in time

of violence or conflict with in African continent grass root program implementation within the

community which involves dealing with the constraints to women economic development and

plan to enforce laws that filter politicians publication via the media so as to reduce citizen unrest
