CAUSES OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE IN PHYSICS IN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION

ABSTRACT

This study investigates’ the Causes of Examination Malpractice in Physics in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State. Five Secondary Schools in Oshimili South Local Government Area were selected for the study. The population of the study comprised students. Four research questions were formulated for the study. A sample of two hundred respondents was used using stratified random sampling technique. Data collected was analyzed using mean and standard deviation. What are the academic achievements of students when taught both practically and theoretically? It was discovered that the above stated questions are the major causes of examination malpractice in senior Secondary School certificate examination in Oshimili South Local Government Area. Two hundred (200) questionnaire were administered but the researchers’ were able to get back one hundred and eighty (180). Based on these findings it was therefore recommended that recruitment and employment of qualified and competent physics teachers as well as provision of adequate Instructional materials are to be given much more premium.
