ABSTRACT
This paper succinctly discusses the modal auxiliary verb, ‘shall’, in relation to other modal auxiliaries. ‘Shall’ is treated both from the semantic and syntactic perspectives. In other words, the subject is examined along the purview of meaning relations and structural arrangements.
