ABSTRACT

Human Resource Information System adoption is increasingly associated to several factors including Technological, Organizational and Individual factors. The study focused on the factors influencing the adoption of human resource information system in parastatal organization. Specifically, this study addressed the influence of Technological Factor on the adoption of Human Resource Information System, Organization Factors on the adoption of Human Resource Information System and Individual Factors on the adoption of Human Resource Information System. The study used a case study design to basically address the factors influencing the adoption of human resource information system in parastatal organization in Dar es salaam. The method used to collect data was questionnaire from 135 respondents in Parastatal Organizations including TANESCO, TPA, NHC, NSSF, LAPF, DAWASCO, TIB, PSPF, TPDC, TRL, TLC, TANROADS, TTCL, GPEF and UCC were selected from Head Quarter office in Dar es Salaam. Interview was used to collect information from Administrative Staff and Human Resource Officer of Parastatal Organization Head Quarter. The study findings showed that technological factor on the adoption of human resource information system is basically influenced by computer network availability, technological preparedness and Data Storage Capacity.The Human Resource Information System is applicable because of good of software system. The organization factors on the adoption of human resource information system. It is generally based on the ability to make decision to the adoption of human resource information system. The individual factors on the adoption of human resource information system is connected to the ability of staff to record relevant information in such a system as well as awareness and readiness.
