ABSTRACT

In this paper, the different ways mechanical engineering can proffer solution to the economic and political situation of the country have been properly stated with details. Lack of infrastructural development is one of the key problems Nigeria is struggling with, currently in it economic and this has slowed down the growth of the country. Mechanical engineers bring this so much needed infrastructure to the doorstep of the country. Through this infrastructure development, more jobs are created and other economic problems facing the country such as unemployment, high poverty rate, underdevelopment f human resources and increase in crime rate are drastically tackled. The dominant political problem that this country faces time after times is incompetent leaders and their lack of innovative ideas for the development of the country. Assignment of a mechanical engineer into an elective office tends to be solution to this problem, with their inexhaustible innovative ideas and creative thinking can bring more infrastructural development and industrialization into the country and this will greatly benefit the economic development at large.
