ABSTRACT

The study examined the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility on the Economic development of Nigeria. Nigeria organization invests a lot to improve performance and retain competent employees. However, despite these efforts, the organizations are characterized by low performance, high employee turnover, and a switchover of staff from one bank to another. The study utilized a survey research design, primary data was used as the source of data with a questionnaire as the instrument of data collection. The findings of the research reveal that philanthropic CSR activities, ethical CSR activities and environmental CSR  has a significant impact on the economic development of Nigeria. The study recommended that firms that desire an increase in their performance should embark on CSR activities that will be of value to society.
