IMPACT OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ON THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF NIGERIA

The study examined effect of Corporate Social Responsibility on the Economic development of Nigeria. Nigeria organization invest a lot to improve performance and retain competent employees. However, despite these efforts the organizations are characterized by low performance, high employee turnover and switch over of staff from one bank to another. The study utilized survey research design, primary data was used as source of data with questionnaire as instrument of data collection. The findings of the research reveals that philanthropic CSR activities, ethical CSR activities and environmental CSR  has significant impact on economic development of Nigeria. The study recommended that firms that desires an increase in its performance should embark on CSR activities that will be of value to the society.
