ABSTRACT

This research†introduction of Islamic Banking into Nigeria Banking System(A Study of Enugu Metropolis)†is an attempt in finding out the implications of establishing Islamic banking into Nigeria Banking System. As at today, literature is awash with countries practicing Islamic Banking which include Malaysia, Turkey and Britain, etc. The population for this study is the entire Nigeria’s economy.  However, to enable the researcher achieve the intended objectives, judgemental sampling techniques was used the select Enugu Metropolis as a case study. The researcher used various research statistical tools which is Chi-square.  Through this data analysis the researcher was able to find out that the Islamic banking has not transformed the economy of some of the countries practicing it.  Based on the finding conclusion and recommendation were made by the researcher as follows that; the motive of the sponsors of Islamic banking is to take over the nation, Islamic banking has political and religious problems, Islamic banking will not boost the Nigeria’s economic system, some of the countries that Islamic banking has transformed are Islamic countries, Islamic banking should not be introduced in conventional banking system.
