ABSTRACT

The main thrust determines the impact of population growth towards environmental quality in zimbabwe from period 1980-2016. In this regard, the study was prompted by the decline or deterioration   on   the   state   of   environmental   quality   that   has   been   characterised   by   high temperature and changing weather patterns brought about by population growth in Zimbabwe.Prior researchers conducted on this field of study have offered diverging views regarding theimpact of population growth on the state of environment. The study used carbon dioxide (CO2)as a measure for environmental quality. The findings of the study using the Ordinary least square (OLS) estimation technique indicated that population growth and carbon dioxide had a positive   relationship.   Hence   population   growth   spearheads   the   decline   or   fall   on   theenvironmental quality. In this regard the researchers offered advice such as intensify populationchecking measures on family planning in order to reduce rapid population growth
