Micro-Finance Services On the Performance of Micro Enterprises in Makindye Division- Kampala Capital City.

ABSTRACT This study explored the effect of micro-finance services on performance of micro enterprises. The study specifically looked at the effect of micro-credit. micro-linance institutions savings mobilisation and business development sen·ices on the performance of Micro enterprises (MEs). A cross-sectional study design for quantitative and qualitative analysis was used on 243 respondents that provided data. Data were collected by use of a self-administered questionnaire, and interview guide. Quantitative data were analysed at univariate level basing on the mean and frequencies. bivariate level using correlation coefficient and multivariate using multiple linear regression with the help of Stntistical Package l(n· Social Sciences 17.0 (SPSS). Qualitative data were analysed by content analysis by composing explanations and substantiating them using the respondents open responses. The study micro-credit affected the performacne of 1\1icrn enterprises (MEs): micro-finance institutions savings mobilisntion affected performance of Micro enterprises (MES): and micro-finance institution business development scn·ices affccted the performance of Micro enterprises (MEs). It was concluded that micm-credit had a signilicant positi1·e relationship with performace: micro institutions savings mobilisation lwd a signilicant positive relationship with performance and micro-linanec· Jllstitutin sen ic·es had a significant positive relatitionship with performnance of Micro enterprises (fV!Es).Thus. it was reccommended that the government should increased support to t\!Fls in order to increase their capacity to extend lrrir credit to iVIEs: micro-linance institutions should adopt more· dynamic sa1 ings practices to help increase i'v!Es saw:: monev: and the gm·cn1ment should support micro-lirwnce institutions to offer increased business development sen·1ces to ivlicro enterprises (MEs)
