ABSTRACT. The study was about the effects of information technology on management of credit in Barclays bank. The specific objective of the study was to find out the effects of information technology on management of credit of Barclays bank. Chapter One established the background of the study,_ the statement of the problem, the purpose of the study which was to establish the relationship between information technology and management of credit in Barclays bank the research objectives; to find out the effects of LT on management of credit Barclays bank. To determine the components and kinds of IT and to examine the use of IT in management of credit in Barclays bank, the research questions, the scope of the study was restricted to Barclays bank Kireka branch of Uganda as well as help them better their performances to benefit scholars and academicians with particular interest in LT in banking industries as well as acting as secondary data for future researchers. Chapter Two was about the literature review of IT and management of credit the theoretical frame work of the study and also the research objectives were discussed in depth. Chapter Three was about the research methodology employed, the research design used was both qualitative and quantitative area of study was Barclays Bank Kireka branch and the study population was the employees and customers of Barclays bank. The sample design was random sampling and sample size was 94 respondents. Primary and secondary data sources were used for data collection through the use of interview and questionnaires. Limitations of the study; inadequate Information, time and financial constraints. Chapter Four was about the presentation and analysis of data. Data was presented through tables with the use of frequency and percentages mode and analyzed using bar graphs and pie-charts Chapter Five includes; the summary of the finds which were based on the research objectives, the conclusions which were based on the research objectives of the study and recommendations made in relation to the study.
