The Impact Of Trade Unions On Employees Welfare A Case Study Of Crown Beverages Pepsicola

ABSTRACT

The study was carried out to find the impact of trade unions on employees

welfare.

Objectives to be achieved included the following;

To examine whether trade unions have power on employees in decisionmaking.

To access the impact of trade unions on employees welfare.

To examine whether trade unions influence the wage bargaining.

To achieve the above objectives the researcher used questionnaire and

interviews which were administered to both the employees and the trade union

members.

Data was analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively and presented

according to the study objectives.

Findings revealed that there were more positive impacts of trade unions on

employees welfare than the negative impacts.

The recommendation suggested included the following;

The researcher recommends that the leaders of trade unions should attract

female employees in the union. This could be done by appointing ladies on top

posts.

The researcher recommends that trade union members should abide by the

rules and regulation of the union and organization they work for.

The researcher recommends that trade union members should clear their

subscription in time and also lobby for funding from government to enable them run their activities smoothly.
