The Nigerian broadcast media sector is a work culture of pressure, stress, overload, inflexibility, and excessive hours of work. Employees are stretched to their limits by work and deadlines, in a bid to attain professionalism. Central to radio and television production is desire to satisfy the communication information, education and entertainment needs of audience members.

However, surprisingly, despite the rapid growth of the broadcast media, there has been a strong notion that programmes quality often short of expectation due to negligence of basic production elements which often proceeds from lack of adequate trained personnel. Against these backdrop, the study conducts an assessment of the benefits of training in enhancing staff performance through training in broadcast media professionalism.
