ABSTRACT
The urgent need to establish a financial institution that will carter for the development of various sections of the African economy brought about the emergence of the African Development Bank. Also, when the African government realized that the central banks and commercial banks could not provide long financial developmental services, the development banks were specifically established to bridge the gap.
The objective of the research is to appraise the activities of ADB (African Development Bank) and highlight the efforts that ADB plays in accelerating the economic development in Nigeria and African in general.
The researcher employs the following findings:
The greatness of a nation is to measure by its degree of economic development and that every country throughout the universe recognizes this.
It is also in cognition of its importance of economic development that Africa countries decided to establish the African development bank (ADB).
