CHAPTER ONE

INRODUCTION

Microfinance, also known as microcredit, is a financial service that offers loans, savings and insurance to entrepreneurs and small business owners who don't have access to traditional sources of capital, like banks or investors. SME (small-to-medium enterprise) is a convenient term for segmenting businesses and other organizations that are somewhere between the "small office-home office size and the larger enterprise, SME can also be referred as a legally independent company with no more than 500 employees. FINCA is a microfinance bank in Nigeria which started operations in 2014 with headquarters in OweITi, Imo State currently established branches in different part of Nigeria including Lagos. To the Nigerian market, FINCA is to become "The Unconventional Bank" delivering Warm, Trnsted and Responsible banking services.
