Abstract
This work titled The Role of Chemistry Teacher in the Development of Science Education in Nigeria is specifically designed to find out and discuss the various ways science education has been lagging in Nigeria and how chemistry education can help to remedy the situation. In the course of this, some issues were discussed  such as the concept of chemistry, chemistry education, science education, objectives of chemistry education, problems facing science education in Nigeria and ways to curtail these problems through chemistry education also the writer gave some recommendation on how the problems facing science education can be checked in Nigeria.
