MANAGEMENT OF TRADE FAIRS AND EXHIBITION AS BUSINESS GAME TECHNIQUES FOR ACHIEVING INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CO-OPERATION: AN EMPIRICAL ASSESSMENT OF SOUTH EAST NIGERIA

Abstract: The research work is on "management of trade fairs and exhibition as business game technique achieving international business co-operation: An assessment of South East Nigeria is a purpose chose topic due its relevance in economic growth. International trade fair effect on business promotion and as such, helps in developing the economy of nation and that of the global. A bold attempt has been made in this project research to define and unravel the problems and prospects of trade fair management locally and internationally, all for economic growth, tried his best to compare and contrast on the following areas; the statement of problems scope of study, objectives, significance of the study etc. in the
chapter one. Some of the problem as discovered by the researcher include; lack of permanent site of the trade fair/exhibitions, no necessary permanent structure in place of participants to during fairs, transportation problems and many more. The chapter two dealt with works done by other authorities and previous researchers pertaining to the research topic. Chapter three dealt with the research method used which is surveyed method. The design of the study was carefully carried out to suit the purpose of the research project using primary and secondary source of data. The population of the study was seventy-eight while the sample size was sixty -five, got through the use of Yoro Yamane 's (chi-square) formula.
Data treatment method was by use of tables and hypothesis test using correction co-efficient in chapter four. The chapter bears the presentation, analysis and interpretation of data with questions and table for clarification, of the research and reports concerning the table/questions were also given. Pie chart was further used for in depth clarification. Summary of findings of the research are that: positive correlation exist between the average monthly profit and the propensity to participative in trade fairs, among others. Some of recommendations made in the study include that; The amount being charged to participants trade fairs/exhibitions, there should be clear at distinction between international trade fairs, and
domestic, agriculture and fashion fairs. Conclusively, this study revealed that all over the world, the organization of trade fairs and exhibitions has becomes part of the National Economic programmes.
