ABSTRACT
The study described z ie relationship between organizational conflict and employee performance in Bonite Bottlers Limited (BBL) in Moshi, Tanzania. It was guided by specific objectives that included; describing the relationship between inter-group conflict and employee performance, to describe the relationship between intra-individual conflict and employee performance and to describe the relationship between inter-personal conflict and employee performance in Bonite Bottlers Limited Moshi, Tanzania. The study adopted a cross-sectional research design . Stratified sampling technique was used. The researcher divided the population into sub populations (top level employees, middle level employees and lower level employees) then simple random sampling was used to select sample form the subpopulation. Data analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS version 13 for windows programme).The study found a positive significant correlation between employee performance and inter-group conflict (r = 0.307; p = 0.006), ii) The same positive but insignificant correlation was found for inter-personal conflict (r 0.17; p 0,127), iii) there was a negative and insignificant correlation between employee performance and intra-individual conflict in BBL (r = - 0.111; p 0.327). The study concluded that inter-group conflict impact positively on productivity of workers, intra-individual contributes negatively on employee performance in BBL and inter-personal conflict contributes positively on employee performance but the contribution is small. The study recommended that inter-group and inter-personal conflict should be embraced in organizations since it contribute to employee performance positively. Intra-individual conflict should be avoided in organizations to reduce negative performance of employees.
