POST-COLONIAL CINEMA PRODUCTION IN GHANA: AKAN VIDEO MOVIES WITHIN GHANA’S CINEMATIC HERITAGE.

ABSTRACT Existing literature on postcolonial cinema production in Sub-Saharan Africa demonstrates substantial success of indigenous film industries. The last two decades have witnessed a rise in local Akan videos originating largely from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The quantum of movies produced, and audience reception have resulted in a decline in the circulation of foreign movies, including those of Nigerian origin which once dominated the Ghanaian cinema industry. Akan videos ar...

Local management and landscape structure determine the assemblage patterns of spiders in vegetable fields

Abstract: Both field- and landscape-scale factors can influence the predator communities of agricultural pests, but the relative importance and interactions between these scales are poorly understood. Focusing on spiders, an important taxon for providing biological control, we tested the influence of field- and landscape-scale factors on structuring the spider communities in a highly dynamic brassica agroecosystem. We found that local factors (pesticide-use and crop type) and forested landsc...

Surfactant Assisted Production of Graphene

Graphene has attracted world-wide attention due to its intriguing set of properties. However, the production of graphene on the bulk scale remains a significant challenge which is limiting its uptake in applications, particularly composites. The exfoliation of graphene in solvents using ultrasonic energy is the most promising approach to-date for the large scale production of graphene flakes. The process relies on a good interaction between the graphene and the solvent used. This interac...

It is an important vegetable crop in Nigeria as it is one of the most varied and widely used foods in Nigeria as virtually every Nigerian home consumes it on a daily basis. The genus Capsicum represents a diverse plant group and includes twenty-seven species; five domesticated and twenty-two undomesticated (Bosland, 1993). The domesticated species are Capsicum annuum, Capsicum baccatum, Capsicum chinense, Capsicum ...

Cash Crop Production in Nigeria

There is need for a multi disciplinary approach to solving or researching the issues of cash crop production. This is because the academic situation is characterized by sharp boundaries, an ecologist tends to avoid social situation and an anthropologist does likewise with natural habitat, energy flow and the like. However, this is a research based on historical development of cash crop production in Nigeria. The research deals with Nigeria as a country with tropical climate. It discu...

Determinants Of Microcredit Access And F Farmers’ Investment In Small Scale Peri-urban Agriculture: A Case Study Of Dzorwulu Vegetable Farmers

PRODUCTION OF PLASTIC MATERIALS

ABSTRACT Generally, plastic is defined as long-chain organic material which can be formed into desired shape by the application of heat and pressure, also it extends to include so many organic metallic complexes and also certain long-chain inorganic material based principally on silicon, phosphorus, nitrogen, aluminum or boron or mixtures of these. It is still however true to say that the bulk of current commercial plastic are modified organic chemical, and that the inorganic polymers and th...
