Standard methods of analysis were used to determine the mineral and nutrient content of the molluscan shells. The mean and variance of each nutrient were determined. The shells contained high percentage of calcium of 12.35 to 15.07% (13.90±0,26) sodium 0.10 to 1.55% (0.705±0,16) magnesium 0.10 to 1.02% (0.44±0.009) phosphorus 0.18 to 0.63 (0.35±0.005) potassium 0.003 to 0.021% (0.012±0.002). Evaluation of Super Absorbent Polymer (Hipro-Aqua) on the Growth, Yield and Quality of Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) Under Various Irrigation Regimes

Abstract  Drought is the most important limiting factor in the production of crops in agriculture; it is becoming an increasingly severe problem, sharpening its ends due to dynamic changes in climatic variables. Tobacco is one of the major cash crops that is being grown by many farmers, but its production potential is often constrained by the scarcity of water and poor productivity of sandy soil. In order to counteract the problem of water scarcity, the researcher hereby sought to investigat...

The Effect Of Fever Tea Tree (Lippia Javanica) In The Control Of Maize Weevil (Sitophilus Zeamais) In Stored Maize (Zea Mays)

Effects Of Intercropping Maize (Zea Mays) With Butternuts (Cucurbita Moschata) At Varying Butternut Population Levels On Maize Growth, Yield And Weed Supression

ABSTRACT  Intercropping is a cultural technique which gives crops a competitive advantage on weeds therefore contributes to weed management. There is need to choose the plant population which results in weed suppression whilst not negatively affecting the component crops yield. The experiment was set in a Randomised Complete Block Design with 5 treatments which are sole maize crop, maize-butternut intercrops at butternut densities of (30%, 40% and 50% of maize population which is 11110, 1388...

Evaluation of New Irish Potato (solanum tuberosum l.) Varieties for Yield Potential in Zimbabwe
