CRYPTOCURRENCY WALLET FOR VIRTUAL CURRENCIES

Abstract This project seeks to demonstrate the use of virtual and cryptocurrencies. In recent years, they have taken on various forms; from mediums of exchange to stores of investment value. This unique function is made secure through the security and reliability of Blockchain technology. This project employs Stellar, a Blockchain implemented network to construct a payment and money exchange technology that has the capability of easing transactions and lowering the cost of money transaction a...

A Lightweight Implementation of the Internet Of Things

Abstract The Internet has undergone many changes in its 45-year-old history. The next wave for the Internet is the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is is defined as “group of infrastructures interconnecting connected objects and allowing their management, data mining and the access to the data they generate” (Dorsemaine). This project implements a lightweight IoT system that can control devices in the home. This system can then be extended to other use cases in agriculture, healthcare and education

MyRide: THE FUTURE OF INTELLIGENCE TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN GHANA

Abstract Public transit is a very important tool in Ghana for those looking to ease their commutes and also reduce car dependence. Due to the high reliance from the public, the need for information about the public system is very significant to those patronizing the service. This report presents MyRide system -an intelligent transit information system that uses the internet, mobile technology, GPS satellites and crowd sourcing. Its objective is to facilitate intra-city transportation in Ghana...

USING ANALYTICAL CRM SYSTEM TO REDUCE CHURN IN THE TELECOM SECTOR: A MACHINE LEARNING APPROACH

ABSTRACT Customers are considered to be the most valuable assets of any business, and thus their loyalty is key to profitability as they indulge in repeat purchases and attract their colleagues through word-of-mouth. In competitive markets such as telecommunications, customers have a lot of flexibility due to the variety of service providers available and the introduction of mobile number portability (MNP) thus they can easily switch services and service providers. Customer churn is, therefor...

Using Model-View-Controller Architectural Pattern in Building a new PHP MicroFramework

ABSTRACT: This project is about building a minimal web framework in PHP for developers who use framework for building complex application. I had the opportunity to work with PHP and some of its framework in production level. Some of these frameworks are awesome to work with but depending on the kind of project a developer will be working on, you end up tweaking the internals of the framework which a developer with less knowledge of the framework will find it very difficult to do. There is als...

AN AUTOMATED EMAIL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM FOR THE ASHESI SUPPORT CENTER

ABSTRACT The widespread usage of the internet has made email an indispensable tool for communication within organizations. Today, email is used by support centers as one of the mediums for providing solutions to the daily internal problems’ organizationsface. An example is the Ashesi Support Center which is the hub for solutions for all problems and questions relating to IT, facilities, logistics, and other issues on the Ashesi University campus. In dealing with problems, the Ashesi support...

TABLET-BASED MATH APPLICATION FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS IN GRADE 1 AND GRADE 2

Abstract Education is one of the basic needs of a child. The knowledge imparted through education is key to the recipient’s growth and skilfulness. In most cases, education is attained by attending a school (face to face) where several subjects are taught. Of all the subjects taught in schools, mathematics is a fundamental subject that cuts across all disciplines, hence a significant field for all school-going children. For some children, they find it easy to understand basic mathematical c...

A SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE FOR ASHESI STUDENTS AND ALUMNI

ABSTRACT Social networking sites (SNSs) are a 21st century phenomenon which has come to stay. There exist over a hundred social networking sites created for various reasons which support a wide range of interests. With over a thousand alumni since Ashesi’s first graduate class in 2005, there is no Ashesi platform for both students and alumni to connect with one another to build relationships. The available platforms have either Students or Alumni but not both parties. Although there are pop...

AUTOGRADING AND DETECTING PLAGIARISM IN STUDENT PROGRAMMING ASSIGNMENTS

ABSTRACT In computer science, practical assignments ensure that students put the theory they learn in class into practice by writing computer programs to solve problems. Practical assignments also play a critical role in assessing students’ understanding of course materials. For course facilitators, grading programming assignments is a time-consuming task. The course facilitators must run each student’s submission. Moreover, some students copy the code from their friends and change the le...

EVALUATING AND CHOOSING A MACHINE LEARNING ALGORITHM FOR CLASSIFYING ROAD SURFACE QUALITY DATA

ABSTRACT Considering the importance of roads to a community, stakeholders (Governments, Motorists etc) need up-to-date information about the state of roads for decision making . This problem inspired Vorgbe’s (2014) work in implementing a machine learning classifier that could accurately classify roads as “good”, “fair” or “bad”. This information can then be visualised on Google Maps. However, with his algorithm failing to accurately classify some roads, this project seeks to ev...

The Impact of Computer Institutes in Building Information Technology Skills for State Development: A Case Study of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State

ABSTRACT This study focused on the impact of computer institutes in building information technology skills for state development in Nigeria with reference to Jos North Local Government Area. The importance of computer institutes and information technology to nation building cannot be over emphasized giving by the fact that no nation can have any meaningful development without accepting the idea of technological advancement. Related literature was reviewed and it was revealed that the problem...

The Human Immune Response to Plasmodium falciparum Includes Both Antibodies That Inhibit Merozoite Surface Protein 1 Secondary Processing and Blocking Antibodies

Malaria merozoite surface protein 1 (MSP1) is cleaved in an essential step during erythrocyte invasion. The responses of children to natural malaria infection included antibodies that inhibit this cleavage and others that block the binding of these inhibitory antibodies. There was no correlation between the titer of the antibody to the 19-kDa fragment of MSP1 and its inhibitory activity. These findings have implications for the design of MSP1-based vaccines.

Variation in the relationship between anti-MSP-119 antibody response and age in children infected with Plasmodium falciparum during the dry and rainy seasons

Abstract Malaria remains a major parasitic disease in Africa, with 300–500 million new infections each year. There is therefore an urgent need for the development of new effective measures, including vaccines. Plasmodium falciparum merozoite surface protein-119 (MSP-119) is a prime candidate for a blood-stage malaria vaccine. Blood samples were collected from children aged 10 days to 15 years in the months of January–March (N = 351) and October–November (N = 369) corresponding to the d...

Dependence of Attenuation of Ionizing Radiation on Compression and Dimension of Geologic Material ( An Application to X-ray Shielding)

Abstract Search for alternative materials required for shielding ionizing radiation has being on the increase for some period of time. Lead which is widely used is expensive, therefore researches has to be carried out on other materials. Clay has been suggested but it is not as effective as lead in shielding ionizing radiation. This work therefore studies the compression of clay samples at different pressures and thicknesses, so as to improve its shielding ability in the attenuation of ioniz...
