DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A DISTRIBUTED RECRUITMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Abstract The recruitment process has always been critical to the success or failure of organizations.  Organizations constantly seek better methods of recruiting staff that will require minimal  effort to seamlessly fit in with the organizations business processes and thus provide  recruitment agencies with the means with which to determine which universities provide the  best graduates in a particular field for recruitment. This project work utilized a V-model software methodology, in th...

Postgraduate project allocation and verification system

The aim of this project is to develop a web-based system that manages the activities of  Postgraduate Student Project Allocation and Verification system.  The primary objectives of this system are: 1. To develop system that give students the opportunity to promote and publicize their work. 2. To develop system that give project supervisors an easy means of tracking their student’s  progress online. 3. To develop system that will ease and automate postgraduate project allocation.

EFFECTS OF CHRYSOPHYLLUM ALBIDUM VARIETIES ON SELECTED BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS USING ALBINO WISTAR RAT

Effect of Chrysophyllum albidum pulp varieties on biochemical parameters was investigated using albino rat model. Thirty male Albino rats were divided into five groups of six rats each. A group served as the control while four groups served as the test groups A, B, C and D. Test groups A and B were placed on 5% and 25% respectively compounded feed of  sweet Chrysophyllum albidum pulp variety while test groups C and D were respectively placed on 5% and 25% compounded feed of sour Chrysophyllu...

THE IMPACT OF THE ENVIRONMENT IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF PARASITIC INFECTIONS

A human or animal with an infection has another organism inside them which gets its sustenance (nourishment) from that person, it colonizes that person and reproduces inside them. The human with that organism (germ) inside is called the host, while the germ or pathogen is referred to as a parasitic organism. Another name for an organism that causes infection is an infectious agent. It is only an infection if the colonization harms the host i.e parasitic relationship. It feeds and multiply ...

MICROBIAL QUALITY OF READY TO EAT FOODS AND SOME VEGETABLES SOLD AT AFOR-ULE MARKET, ABA.

Bacteria are group of microorganisms all of which lack a distinct nuclear membrane (and hence are considered more primitive than animal and plant cells) and of most which have a cell wall of unique composition. Most bacteria are unicellular; the cells maybe spherical (coccu), rod-shaped (bacillus), spiral (spirillum), comma-shaped (vibrio) or corkscrew-shaped (spierocheate). Generally, they range in size between 0.5 and 5um. (Elizabeth and Martin, 2003). Food is any substance that people or ...

The Effect of Broken Homes on Science Education Students: A Case Study of Some Selected Secondary Schools in Augie Local Government

The family can therefore, be looked at as a social group characterized by common resident, economic, cooperation and production. When a child is born, the family is the first primary group with which t...

Occurrence and Multiple Antibiotic Susceptibility Profile of Bacterial Pathogens Isolated from Patients with Chronic Respiratory Diseases

Abstract Objectives: The present study reported the antibiotic susceptibility profile and pattern of pathogens isolated from in- and out-patients with respiratory tracts infections. Methods: Sputum and throat swab samples were collected aseptically from subjects and cultured on the appropriate bacteriological media. Bacterial isolates were identified using biochemical tests and the identity of the isolate was later confirmed using Analytical Profile Index 20E kit. Antimicrobial susceptibilit...

Evaluation of Inhibitory Zone Diameter (IZD) of crude Spondias mombin (Linn.) extracts (root, leaf, and stem bark) against thirty infectious clinical and environmental isolates.

Abstract The purpose of this work is to evaluate the Inhibitory Zone Diameter (IZD) of crude Spondias mombin extracts against thirty infectious clinical and environmental organisms. The root, leaf and stem-bark of S. mombin were harvested and air-dried. The dried S. mombin was milled into powdered form using manual grinder. Powdered S. mombin (1kg) each of the different S. mombin parts was extracted with 3 L of 70% (v/v) ethanol, ethyl acetate and distilled water for 72 h at room temperature....

ANTIFUNGAL EFFECT OF GARCINIA KOLA

ABSTRACT The study determines the antifungal effects of aqueous, ethanolic and methanolic extracts of Garcinia kola on some selected fungal isolates and their phytochemical constituents. The antifungal sensitivity and Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) were determined by agar well diffusion and agar dilution methods, respectively using Sabouraud dextrose agar. The minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC) was determined using samples with no visible growth in the MIC assay and sub-cultur...

Offshore Oil and Gas Drilling waste: The Need for Pragmatic Change

Executive SummaryOffshore drilling for oil and natural gas have been ongoing since the 1800’s but little emphasis has been placed on the fate of drilling waste acquired during the drilling process. There are three main categories of waste that represent a potential concern based on current disposal practices.  These waste categories are drilling fluids, drill cuttings and produced formation water (PFW). Existing and proposed policies related to the handling and disposal of these wastes wil...

REVIEW: BETA LACTAM ANTIBIOTIC DRUG RESISTANCE

The class of β-lactam antibiotics has  antibiotic agents that possess β-lactam ring as part of their molecular structure, these agents includes cephalosporins, monobactams, penicillins   and carbapenems. these are the most widely used antibiotics which act by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall such activity leads to the lysis and death of the bacteria. due to the wide applications of these antibiotics bacteria have developed resistance mechanism against these antibiotics...

Anatomical Analysis and Seed-Coat Imposed Dormancy in Parkia biglobosa

The effect of different treatments of breaking seed dormancy of Parkia biglobosa seeds were studied in this project work. The results of different treatments observed showed 88% for concentrated H2SO4, 80% for scarification (with scalpel) and 52% for dry heat while the untreated seed (control) is 40% germination. The speed of germination for some treated seeds are also observed to be greater than that of the untreated seeds with seeds treated with concentrated H2SO4 having the highest value o...

A Study of the Fundamentals of Fuzzy Set

Abstract The fundamental idea of the project is to provide basic and concrete concepts of the fuzzy set theory, and thus focused on easy illustrations of the basic concepts. There are numerous examples and figures to help readers to understand. It tries to explain the emergence of fuzzy sets from historical perspective. Looking back to the history of sciences, it seems that fuzzy sets were bound to appear at some point in the 20th century. Indeed, Zadeh's works have cristalized and popularize...
