Application of Forward Difference Operator on Sequence of numbers

A new formula based on forward difference operator is derived herein, the formula is used to compute the nth term and sum (Sn) of an Arithmetic progression. The merit of using the formula is that if given ,  the nth term of an A.P can be easily and quickly computed if n is not known.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is an infection of your liver. It can cause scarring of the organ, liver failure, and cancer. It can be fatal if it isn’t treated. It’s spread when people come in contact with the blood, open sores, or body fluids of someone who has the hepatitis B virus. The disease don’t last a long time. Your body fights it off within a few months, and you’re immune for the rest of your life.Hepatitis B is a contagious liver infsection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV).  The natural...

PERFORMANCE OF DATAMINING TECHNIQUES IN THE PREDICTION OF CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE

Data mining being an experimental science is very important especially in the health sector where we have large volumes of data. Since data mining is an experimental science, getting accurate predictions could be tasking. Getting maximum accuracy of each classifier is necessary, it is therefore important that the appropriate feature selection method is selected. Feature selection is highly relevant in predictive analysis and should not be overlooked. It helps reduce the execution time and pro...

Preliminary structural evaluation of an X-Field Onshore in Niger Delta using 3D seismic data

A structural evaluation of a post stack time migrated (PSTM) 3D seismic data over an X–Field in the eastern Niger Delta has been attempted. The objective of the study is to structurally evaluate the field with a view to identifying structural features such as faults, map geologic horizons and analyze reflection characteristics that might be a good lead to probable hydrocarbon accumulations. Results revealed that six growth faults (F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, and F6) and three seismic horizons (HI, ...

Properties of Operations on Soft Ideals and Idealistic Soft Ring

Abstract: Soft set theory initiated by Molodtsov is an important mathematical tool that deals with uncertainties about imprecision and vagueness. Research on soft ideals of ring has been carried out by other researchers. In this paper, we discuss on some properties of soft ring ideals and idealistic soft ring. We state and prove some important theorems and propositions on soft ring ideals and idealistic of soft ring that has not been studied by other researchers.

Differential Forms: A Tool for Linearizing Second Order Ordinary Differential Equations

Abstract: In this paper, we presented the differential forms method which is used in the linearization of second order non-linear differential equations. The differential forms used here is limited to 2-forms with their respective operations. After presentation of the method, an example is used to illustrate the procedure of the linearization problem. Keywords Linearization, Differential forms, Differential Equations, Second Order

Occurrence and Multiple Antibiotic Susceptibility Profile of Bacterial Pathogens Isolated from Patients with Chronic Respiratory Diseases

Abstract Objectives: The present study reported the antibiotic susceptibility profile and pattern of pathogens isolated from in- and out-patients with respiratory tracts infections. Methods: Sputum and throat swab samples were collected aseptically from subjects and cultured on the appropriate bacteriological media. Bacterial isolates were identified using biochemical tests and the identity of the isolate was later confirmed using Analytical Profile Index 20E kit. Antimicrobial susceptibilit...

Evaluation of Inhibitory Zone Diameter (IZD) of crude Spondias mombin (Linn.) extracts (root, leaf, and stem bark) against thirty infectious clinical and environmental isolates.

Abstract The purpose of this work is to evaluate the Inhibitory Zone Diameter (IZD) of crude Spondias mombin extracts against thirty infectious clinical and environmental organisms. The root, leaf and stem-bark of S. mombin were harvested and air-dried. The dried S. mombin was milled into powdered form using manual grinder. Powdered S. mombin (1kg) each of the different S. mombin parts was extracted with 3 L of 70% (v/v) ethanol, ethyl acetate and distilled water for 72 h at room temperature....

REVIEW: BETA LACTAM ANTIBIOTIC DRUG RESISTANCE

The class of β-lactam antibiotics has  antibiotic agents that possess β-lactam ring as part of their molecular structure, these agents includes cephalosporins, monobactams, penicillins   and carbapenems. these are the most widely used antibiotics which act by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall such activity leads to the lysis and death of the bacteria. due to the wide applications of these antibiotics bacteria have developed resistance mechanism against these antibiotics...

THE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF THE NUMBER OF ADMITTED AND RELEASED CHILDREN IN THE MOTHERLESS BABIES HOME

Motherless babies have nowadays become common because of moral deca-dence of the society, young people who cannot cater for themselves and ndthemselves put in a family way end up abandoning their babies. The increas-ing hardship of the present economic recession has increased the incidence ofburden on families and the consequent loss of rm control of family members.Time series analysis is use to model the admission and release of children inthe motherless or orphanage home and the data use fo...

Chewing Sticks and Oral Health Care in Owo Local Government, Ondo State

-the aim of this study is to carried out the Antimicrobial and phytochemical effect on five medicinal plants used as chewing sticks in Owo local government of Ondo State, Nigeria. Methods- The methods used for this study are antimicrobial assay, and phytochemical screening. The  aqueous, ethanol and  ethyl acetate  extracts  of  the  leaves,  bark  and  roots  of  Distemonantus bentaminaitus , Anogeissus leiocarpus, Garcina kola, Piper guineense and Zanthoxylun Lessmamul for the po...

IN VITRO EVALUATION OF THE ANTIMICROBIAL POTENCY

The search for potent antimicrobial agent is unending. The use of mouthwashes to improve oral hygiene is being favoured for its presumed antimicrobial activity. This study therefore evaluated the antibacterial activity of common mouthwashes against relevant clinical isolates.  Five mouthwash samples (coded; LIS; COL; TOT; FLU; BRE) bought from major super markets in Ondo State, Nigeria, were examined for antimicrobial activity using agar well diffusion method. The kinetic of activity and M...

Evaluation of the viability and survival rates of some selected pathogens

Artificially inoculated fruit juice is a very viable profit making sole business in Nigeria, the product is locally available in all market in different parts of the country, especially in Ondo state, using Ikare and Iwaro Akoko market, as the focal point of this present study. Fifty (50) samples of the inoculated fruit juice were purchase from the market in Iwaro and Ikare Akoko, Ondo State. The test organisms used for this research work are Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC) 25923, Salmonella spp...

Evaluation of antimicrobial activities of crude ethyl

The purpose of this research work is to determine the antimicrobial activities of crude ethyl acetate and ethanolic extracts of Morinda lucida leaf, stem, and bark growing in Adekunle Ajasin University Botanical Garden against selected clinical isolates. The plant Morindal lucida falls under the family Rubiaceae known to have wide usage in traditional medicine. Morinda lucida is a tropical West African tree of medium-size about 18–25 m tall, the bark is grey to brown in color, flowers are w...

Comparative Studies of the Efficiency of Sun Drying and Hot Air Oven

The drying efficacy and product quality of onion and pepper dried in the oven and sun were compared. The drying process took 1-4 days to accomplish. The proximate analysis, bacterial load and identification of microorganisms, sugar fermentation, catalyses test and the bacteria count were determined. The mean moisture content of the product at the end of the drying was 6.4% (sun) and 4.5% (oven). The oven dried product were significantly (P
